How can a medical writer support the rare disease community?

Raquel Billiones, PhD and myself have been invited to moderate an Expert Discussion Group, at the upcoming European Medical Writers Association (EMWA) Spring conference in Valencia.

The discussion will be "Nuances of Writing for the Rare Disease Space: Experiences and Improvements".

As writers, we can share our own experiences, but we only have a limited perspective on what needs to be improved. I think that it's imperative to put that question out there to our rare disease community.

So, what role can a medical writer play to support this vulnerable community? The discussion could start now.
