Today, the 15th of May, is MPS (Mucopolysaccharidoses) Awareness Day. MPS are a group of rare, inherited metabolic disorders caused by the body's inability to produce sufficient enzymes needed to break down complex sugar molecules called glycosaminoglycans (GAGs).
