Today, on day 13 of our rare disease initiative, I wanted to share John's story. John was a school friend who was diagnosed with a very rare type of cancer. I followed his inspirational journey, where he worked tirelessly to raise awareness of this type of cancer. As he said, it is a cancer like no other, as it is so physically obvious to others and the psychological effect that it has. His difficulty in finding others like him led him to write a book about his journey and to raise thousands of pounds for cancer support charities and cancer research.
